This highly palatable, high-energy formula is designed to get lambs started at an early age and to support frame and muscle development early in life and promoting superior performance during the later and finishing stages.
The feeding directions and table are intended as a guide for developing your lamb’s greatest potential for show and breeding. Be sure to monitor body condition and performance closely and adjust feed amounts as necessary for your particular lamb and situation.
- Feed Show Lamb Sales Edge™ formula to young lambs as a creep feed from one week of age to weaning.
- For lambs who have never had access to creep feed or to Show Lamb Sales Edge™ formula, start lambs on hay at 1% of bodyweight.For lambs on full feed, hay should be limited to one-quarter to one-half pounds per lamb per day.
- After weaning, feed Show Lamb Sales Edge™ formula as the sole ration for lambs up to 80 pounds bodyweight at the rate of 3% of bodyweight to promote optimum growth and muscle development. Use the feeding table below as a guide.
- For newly purchased lambs, feed Show Lamb Sales Edge™ formula for at least 21 days before transitioning to the Show Lamb Textured Feed formula. The Show Lamb Sales Edge™ formula is specially designed to help lambs handle the stress associated with change and to promote continued growth and development during this critical transition period.
- After the transition, feed Show Lamb Textured Feed as the sole ration for show and breeding lambs from 50-60 pounds of bodyweight to finish at the rate of 3% of bodyweight (full feed) to promote optimum growth and muscle development.
- Be sure to follow the feeding directions on the Show Lamb Textured Feed.

Important Management Tips
- Provide access to fresh, clean water at all times.
- De-worm lambs on a regular schedule, rotating de-wormers between treatments for best results.
- Make sure that lambs are current on all vaccinations, including enterotoxemia, before going on full feed.
- Exercise your show lambs by walking them three to five times a week to improve your control in the show ring and your showmanship skills. An exercise program is also recommended to support muscle development in your lambs.
- Do NOT provide show lambs access to free choice minerals or high phosphorus minerals, as they may increase the risk of urinary calculi or “water belly.”
