Feeding Directions
The feeding directions and table below are intended as a guide for developing your goat’s greatest potential for show and breeding. Be sure to monitor body condition and performance closely and adjust feed amounts as may be necessary for your particular goat and situation.
• For newly purchased kids, we recommend starting with Show Goat Sales Edge™ formula for at least 21 days before transitioning to Show Goat Developer formula. The Show Goat Sales Edge™ formula is specially designed to help kids handle the stress associated with change and to promote continued growth and development during this transition period.
• Feed Show Goat Developer formula as the sole ration for show and breeding goats from 60 pounds of bodyweight to finish at the rate of 3.5% of bodyweight to promote growth and muscle development. Use the feeding table below as a guide.
• If weight gains are too rapid, adjust accordingly by limiting feed to 2.5% of bodyweight or roughly two-thirds of full feed intake. For periods when feed intake is limited by more than two-thirds of full feed, we recommend feeding the Show Goat Sales Edge™ formula to help maintain intake levels for proper protein and micronutrients.
• When needed, mix Sheen® show supplement with Show Goat Developer formula at the rate of 0.25 pounds (0.11 kilograms) per goat per day to promote growth and help minimize the effects of stress.
• Thirty to 45 days prior to show, mix Final Touch™ show supplement with Show Goat Developer formula at the rate of one-quarter to one-half pounds (0.11 to 0.23 kilograms) per goat per day to promote body condition and finish.
