Feeding Directions
Feeding directions for show calves
- Supplement Show Calf Finisher or Show Heifer Developer diet with one to three pounds per head per day of Power PHAT™ supplement from 60 days prior to and until show date.
- Power PHAT™ supplement also can be used anytime to support skin and hair health, bloom and weight gain when feed intake is depressed.
- Ensure adequate roughage is fed to support rumen health.
- Important: The Power PHAT™ supplement MUST be thoroughly mixed with a complete diet. Do not top dress this product.
Feeding Plan
How to develop your feeding plan
- Step 1: Start with your show animal’s weight today and the desired weight at show time.
- Step 2: Calculate the number of days to the show date.
- Step 3: Determine the expected average daily gain for your animal’s weight.
- Step 4: Multiply the average daily gain by the number of days to the show date and add your animal’s current weight.
- Step 5: FASTER GAIN: If the calculated animal weight is less than desired at show time, consider feeding more of the Showmaster® Premium diet than the average daily feed intake level indicated on the bag and/or add Power PHAT™ supplement at the recommended rate.
