How the Contest Works:

To enter the Showmaster® National Livestock Judging Contest, you must register online.  Only one registration (entry) per person and email address is allowed.  If you competed in the 2007 contest- your login and password may be used again.  After registering, you will be emailed your user name and password to login and begin the contest.  The contest is hosted by Judging101.com and is FREE!

 

YOU WILL HAVE 80 MINUTES TO COMPLETE THE CONTEST.  A TIMER WILL BE PRESENT.

After logging on, you will be able to study different views of the four animals in each of the 12 livestock classes. All 12 classes must be submitted at the same time and all submissions are final. 

 

The deadline for submissions is midnight, May 15, 2008.

 

Official placements for all classes will be posted on the Showmaster® website, once the winners have been confirmed.

 

Showmaster® National Livestock Judging Contest

Official Contest Rules

  1. No purchase necessary.
  2. A registration form must be completed for the entry to be valid.
  3. A valid email address is required to register for the contest.
  4. Only one entry per person and per email address is allowed.
  5. Contestants are on the honor system to participate without outside help and to not share their placements with others until after the contest has closed at midnight on May 15, 2008.
  6. Contestants will be disqualified for any misrepresentation of information or violation of contest rules.  
  7. Contest begins March 15, 2008 at midnight (CST) and continues until closing at midnight (CST) on May 15, 2008.
  8. Competition time will be limited to 80 minutes per contestant.  A timer will be present.
  9. Contestants will compete within the age group entered on the registration form:  13 and under, 14-18, 19 and over with a Collegiate team designation.  Age is determined by the contestant’s age on January 1, 2008. Contestants under the age of 13 will be required to have parental consent to compete. 
  10. SPECIAL COLLEGIATE CONTEST:  Top scoring collegiate team will win a $1000 cash bonus.  Score based on the top four highest scores from the team,  i.e. if ten people compete, only the top four will go towards the team score.  The judging team coach's score will not qualify towards the team's score.  No exceptions. 
  11. Official placements by contest judges are final and are not subject to appeal.
  12. In the event of a tie, the tied contestants will be asked to submit a written set of reasons for one of the 12 livestock classes drawn at random by the Contest Manager. The contest judge for that class will evaluate the written reasons and contestants will be notified of the outcome. The judge’s decisions are final.
  13. Official placement for all classes will be posted on the Showmaster® website once the winners have been notified and confirmed.
  14. Final results for all contestants and age groups will be available on the Showmaster® website. 
  15. Contest is open to U.S. legal residents of all ages, however minors under 13 must obtain the consent of parents/guardians prior to registration.  Contest is void where prohibited.  Employees of Cargill, Incorporated, its affiliates and subsidiaries, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) of each such employee, are not eligible.  Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  16. Participation in the contest constitutes winner’s consent to Sponsor’s use of winners’ name, likeness, statements, biographical information, hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, without further payment or consideration, to the extent allowed by law.
